Men from the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Gombe State Command, have taken Usman Mohammed, 40, into custody for luring and sodomizing 12 children between the ages of five and ten.
It is alleged that Mohammed, a resident of Liji in the state’s Yalmatu Deba Local Government Area, specialized in s*xual knowledge of minors.
When he was paraded to journalists on Tuesday at the NSCDC state headquarters, he told them that his Islamic teacher introduced him to same-s*x relationships when he was an 18-year-old Almajiri student in Kano.
While pleading for forgiveness from the appropriate authorities, the father of three stated that he regretted his actions.
“At the age of 18, I learned about homosexuality from my almajiri scholar in Brigade, Kano State. He stated, “I am asking for forgiveness and regretting my action.”
Waziri Goni, the State Commandant of the NSCDC, praised him and the other suspects and stated, “Upon interrogation, the suspect confessed to the crime,” adding that the suspect disclosed that he was introduced to homosexuality in order to become wealthy.
One of the 12 boys who were allegedly sodomized, according to Goni, is currently in hiding, while the other boys are available.
Sadly, he has not become wealthy. How can God bless someone who uses young boys for their own gain? Goni stated, “He prides himself in raping children in an effort to get rich, he has remained a nail cutter. He has three children and a wife.”
While expressing concern about the prevalence of s*xual assaults, Goni urged parents to assume parental responsibility and stated, “Nobody can take care of your children better than you.” Parents cannot delegate their responsibilities to others.
