Mr. Samuel Daji, the EFCC counsel, informed the court that the case had been re-assigned and urged it to remand the defendant until the trial began.

Daji argued that the defense needed to submit a proper bail application because the case was new to the court.

He stated,

“My lord, Justice Sherifat Solebo heard this case prior to her retirement, and when it was transferred to this honorable court, I informed my learned friend that the case would be heard on January 25.

He stated that he believed it was the previous day.

“We do not know whether the sureties who stood for her earlier are still alive or not, as this is a matter that is starting anew before your lordship.

“It is proper for the defense to apply for bail again in front of your lordship,”

Mr. Kassim Molade, the defense attorney, asked the court to keep the defendant’s bail that Solebo had given him until a new bail application was filed.

Molade claims that the defendant has attended court regularly and is prepared to appear for trial.

“We strongly urge your lordship to permit the defendant to continue receiving the sister court’s bail.”

We were not present on January 25 because the prosecution did not respond to me.

He stated, “I assure your lordship that I will rush to the sister court to get a copy of the ruling on the bail application before the close of today.”

As a result, Justice Mojisola Dada kept the defendant’s bail that Solebo had given him until the defense attorney filed a new bail application.

Additionally, Dada mandated that the defendant present her account statement within three weeks.

She believed that if she didn’t, the court would order her remand.

The EFCC said that the defendant and two others, Lasisi Adeleke and Sodiq Adeleke, who are still at large, tried to get $6, 000 from Mr. Joseph Rumoro under the guise that the money was for paying his taxes and getting his passport and visa.

The commission also said that Adewale kept N7.9 million in cybercrime proceeds in her bank account.

Sections 8(a) and 1(3), 8(b) and 1(3), and 17(a) and (b) of the Advance Fee Fraud and Other Fraud Related Offenses, 2006 are in violation by the alleged offenses.

The case has been postponed until April 18 so that the trial can begin.
