Owners of Point of Sales (POS) devices are required by the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) to confine their operations to commercial zones.
On Wednesday, Umar Shuaibu, the Abuja Metropolitan Management Council (AMMC) Coordinator, issued the instruction.
According to Shuaibu, the administration would not let businesses to occupy critical sites forcibly.
The official claimed that the security of the nation’s capital was being threatened by their indiscriminate behavior.
He explained that the neighborhood concept, which brings services closer to the people, was built into the Abuja Master Plan.
Shuaibu advised POS owners to be present in shopping malls, plazas, markets, supermarkets, and gas stations.
The AMAC CEO urged the operators to speak with the property owners in order to conduct business on their property.
All operators must move to commercial zones going forward. This will aid in reducing insecurity, he continued.
