Four players are mentioned by Gareth Bale as natural successors to Messi

Legendary Real Madrid star Gareth Bale has identified many players who can ‘naturally’ replace Lionel Messi in European football, including Erling Haaland, Marcus Rashford, Jack Grealish, and Phil Foden.

Messi recently disclosed that, upon the expiration of his contract with Paris Saint-Germain on June 30, he would sign with Major League Soccer (MLS) team Inter Miami as a free agent.

The incredible run Messi had in European football will come to an end with his transfer to Inter Miami.

The Welshman responded to BT Sport’s query on potential Messi replacements by saying: “[Erling] Haaland is definitely on fire, he’s done well at all the teams he’s been at.

Of course, more talent will pass. There are several talented players breaking through in the Premier League, including Rashford, Grealish, and Foden.

“In whatever sport, it is the same. There is a moment of transition, after which people will naturally take charge.
