Posted by Regardless of political differences, Governor Dauda Lawal has asked the newly elected members of the Zamfara State House of Assembly to come together and work for the good of the state.
In a meeting with the newly elected lawmakers on Tuesday in the Council Chambers of the Government House, Lawal made the request.
“I’d want to take this chance to congratulate the 24 newly-elected legislators. The constitutional duty for which you were all chosen is a substantial one. In order to sustain our collaboration with the State legislature, I can guarantee you that my administration is eager to engage with them.
“Zamfara State is confronted with a number of challenges, ranging from lack of security to decline in educational and other major issues of concern.”
Since we only have Zamfara as a state, it is time to come together and reposition the state.
The governor urged the legislature to continue working together with the executive branch of government.
As mandated by the constitution, the Zamfara State House of Assembly chose presiding officers on Tuesday and swore in its members for the 7th session.
The Seventh Assembly unanimously chose Bilyaminu Ibrahim Moriki (Zurmi North) as Speaker, guaranteeing that the legislators will give the Executive arm of government the greatest support and collaboration for the benefit of the state.
Lawal met with the Seventh Assembly leadership for acquaintance, according to a statement by the governor’s spokesperson, Sulaiman Bala Idris.
