In a land dispute, a man plunges his father into a well

After spending three days inside a 20-foot well that his son hurled him into, a 60-year-old father is now in Longisa County Referral Hospital fighting for his life.

Following a land dispute, Samuel Tanui’s son threw him into the well in the Kenyan community of Emitiot, Chepalungu Sub-County, and Bomet County.

Tanui had reportedly earlier refused to let his 22-year-old son Charles Kiplangat Rotich to sell the family land, and it is assumed that this prompted his son to come up with a plan to kill him, according to area Assistant Chief Lenny Ngeno.

Rotich thought his father was dead when they threw him into the well and continued with his usual activities.

The elderly man was eventually heard by some bystanders after he managed to scream loudly enough to be heard by them. He was then taken right away to a hospital.
