NECO Announces the SSCE External Results for 2022

The National Examinations Council (NECO) issued an announcement on Thursday stating that the results of the Senior School Certificate Examination for the months of November and December 2022 will be made public.

The Registrar of NECO, Prof. Dantani Ibrahim Wushishi, made the statement in Minna, Niger state.

According to the head of NECO, 59,124 people registered for the exam, with 31,316 male candidates (representing 52.96%) and 27,808 female candidates (representing 47.03%).

Wushishi added that 58,012 candidates took the English Language exam, of which 44,162, or 76.13 percent, received a passing grade, and 57,700 candidates took the Mathematics exam, of which 43,096, or 74.69 percent, received a passing grade.

He also said that 33,914 candidates, or 57.36 percent, had five or more credits, including English Language and Mathematics.

He stated, “Also 46,825 candidates, representing 79.20 percent, got five Credits or more regardless of English Language and Mathematics.”

He stated, “11,419 candidates were booked for various forms of malpractice is, as opposed to 4,454 in 2021, which shows a sharp rise in the number of malpractice cases,” when discussing the issue of examination malpractice.

He claims that the monitoring officers’ improved strategy and method are largely to blame for this.

He stated that this resulted in the blacklisting of four supervisors—two from Ogun State and one each from Rivers and Plateau States—for aiding and abetting as well as poor supervision.

Keep in mind that NECO held the 2022 External Senior School Certificate Examination from November 21 to December 21, and the results are due 57 days from now.
