New Zealand coach reveals reason for defeat to Super Falcons

New Zealand head coach, Jitka Klimkova has revealed reasons for her side’s defeat to the Super Falcons.

The Ferns lost 3-0 to the nine-time African champions in a friendly at the Mardan Sports Complex, Antalya, Turkey on Tuesday afternoon.

Klimkova’s side started the game strongly but was later overrun by the Super Falcons.

Onome Ebi, Jennifer Echegini and Desire Oparanozie were on target for the Super Falcons in the game.

But Klimkova in defence of her team said, “We gave up a goal from a set play. We gave up a goal from a cross. The biggest improvement we need to now look for is really gritty defending in the box,” she told the country’s official website.

Both countries will feature at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup this summer with New Zealand one of the co-hosts.
