Posted by The federal government and the All Progressives Congress (APC) have been criticized by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for their treatment of governors who were elected on PDP platforms. These governors have spoken out against the APC’s and President Bola Tinubu’s failures, which have caused immense suffering for Nigerians.
They are “totally overwhelmed and lack the capacity and competence to lead a nation like Nigeria,” the PDP said, restating that the present economic misery and growing wave of insecurity across the country are the fault of the APC and Tinubu’s administration.
Over the past week, PDP governors and federal and APC leadership have been engaged in a back-and-forth on the country’s difficulties. The governors urged Tinubu and the APC-led administration to step down if they feel overwhelmed by their duties, while Tinubu criticized the governors for failing to fulfill their obligations.
In a statement released by Hon. Debo Ologunagba, the PDP’s national publicity secretary, the party entered the contentious debate. Ologunagba stated, “By seeking to allocate President Tinubu’s statutory duties to State Governors, the APC has unambiguously admitted that it foisted on Nigerians an incompetent President who cannot guarantee security and whose administration devastated our national economy resulting in extreme hunger, hopelessness and desperation as evident in the protests, agitation and rising spate of suicides across the country.”
Everyone in Nigeria is upset about the disastrous state of affairs that the country is in because of President Tinubu’s poorly planned and executed policies.
It is impossible for President Tinubu to shift blame for the economic collapse of our country to lower levels of government because they lack authority over national security, fiscal policy, and monetary policy. Tinubu is personally responsible for these matters in his role as Minister of Petroleum Affairs, as well as other national revenues.
