Police are instructed by the government of Niger State to arrest anyone who rejects old Naira bills

The Niger State Government has instructed the state’s police and other security agencies to arrest anyone who refuses to use the old naira notes for business.

SSG, Alh., the Secretary to the Niger State Government, The disclosure was made on Monday in Minna by Ahmed Ibrahim Matane.

He explained that the old naira notes are still valid and that anyone caught refusing to collect them for business transactions will be prosecuted.

He asserts that “anyone caught refusing to collect while causing unnecessary hardship to the citizens shall be arrested and prosecuted.” The old naira notes are still valid.

After that, Matane instructed residents of the state to carry out their legal responsibilities and to report anyone who refused to accept the old naira notes to any of the state’s security agencies for the necessary action.
