The House on the Rock’s Abuja pastor, Uche Aigbe, gave an explanation for standing on the pulpit while pointing an AK-47 gun.

“Pastor Uche has served as a leader in House on the Rock, Abuja, since 1999, and he has consistently displayed outstanding leadership qualities. However, he acknowledges that carrying a gun to convey his message was regrettable and ill-advised, despite his best intentions.
“Pastor Uche has profusely apologized for his actions and has acknowledged their gravity without hesitation.
“House on the Rock is a church that opposes all forms of violence and stands on the gospel of Jesus Christ, which promotes peace and goodwill toward all people.
“We will continue to engage internally to ensure that this break in protocol does not happen again,” and “We are cooperating fully with the authorities as they carry out their investigations into this incident.”
