The APC is requesting a four-week extension of the election

Due to the country’s economic chaos, there are rumors that the All Progressives Congress (APC) wants to delay the general election.

This comes shortly after the APC stopped running campaigns in Lagos State and Ogun State, respectively.

The ruling party, led by Kaduna State governor Nasir El-Rufai, is said to have plotted to extend the election schedule by four weeks, as reported by the Daily Independent.

According to the APC source who spoke with the aforementioned publication, many Nigerians are protesting the new Naira scarcity and fuel shortage, which is causing economic chaos and the plot to extend the election.

The report stated:

Governor Nasir El-Rufai is in charge of the APC’s effort to move the election forward by four weeks. I believe it has something to do with the current chaos brought on by a lack of fuel and the naira.
