Wike asserts that Tinubu possesses the character Nigeria needs

According to Governor Nyesom Wike, the All Progressives Party (APC) presidential candidate Bola Ahmed Tinubu possesses the bravery and character required for Nigeria.

Wike and Tinubu met at the Government House in Port Harcourt shortly after the Wednesday campaign rally for the APC candidate for Rivers. He stated that he owed no one an explanation for his declarative endorsement and wished Tinubu success in his presidential campaign.

However, the governor of Rivers urged Tinubu not to provide Tonye Cole, the APC’s candidate for governor of Rivers, with any additional funding, claiming that Cole has no chance of winning against Siminaliayi Fubura, the PDP candidate Wike plans to succeed him.

The governor revealed that he copied some of his (Wike’s) governorship policies that have brought him praise, particularly quality welfare for judicial officers, from the policies of Tunubu when he was governor of Lagos. The governor also acknowledged that Tinubu, the former governor of Lagos, had never changed political parties and remains committed to what he believes in.

“I have no apologies to make when I say that no woman born can intimidate me. You have never switched parties once. That demonstrates your character and bravery, which is what this country needs, the Rivers governor told Tinubu.

He went on to say, “But let me advise you, don’t spend any more money on your governorship candidate here (Rivers),” stressing that he has no chance of competing with the PDP candidate.

Atiku Abubakar, the PDP’s candidate for president, was slammed by Wike for switching political parties without character and for not keeping his promise to give South the party chairmanship if he won the party’s nomination.

Wike stated, “Governor of CBN is disrespecting Supreme Court” regarding the escalating problems with the currency redesign implemented by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN). Where in democracy has it occurred?

“Everyone is folding their hands and pleading with the CBN to obey the Supreme Court as the Supreme Court tells them not to do this. What are you telling the public if the Supreme Court is not to be followed?

Tinubu had stated to Wike that they were two distinct political leaders due to their fearlessness, consistency in character, adherence to the law, and refusal to alter their political platform in the face of opposition.

You never supported the dissolution or division of our nation. Sharing the cake we bake together is at the heart of all of your advocacy. We are here to promote your philosophy, which was that power should be given to the South.

Tinubu told Wike, “I do not want to abuse anyone,” allegedly scolding Atiku for switching between the PDP and APC. Government House is not where I’m going to campaign. When we came to Port Harcourt to campaign, we said we had to pay you a courtesy visit because of your character and faith.
