A bank customer in Delta passed away while waiting for his ATM, not for a withdrawal, according to police

The death of a customer who passed away after slumping and collapsing while waiting in line for several hours at a bank in Agbor, Delta State, has been confirmed by the Delta State Police Command.

The unnamed man died after spending hours in line at the bank’s branch in Ika South Local Government Area, Delta State, to pick up his Automated Teller Machine (ATM) card, according to the Tribune on Friday.

Earlier reports said that he died while waiting in line to get some money out of the bank.

However, the state’s Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bright Edafe, clarified and confirmed his death by saying, “He was not trying to withdraw cash as alleged; however, he arrived to the aforementioned bank to collect his ATM card.”
