The nomination of Sakinatu Hassan Idris as the new Clerk of the Kaduna State House of Assembly has been given the go-ahead by Senator Uba Sani, who serves as the Governor of Kaduna State.
This information was provided to the media in the form of a statement that was drafted by his Chief Press Secretary, Muhammad Shehu Molash.
He stated that the decision was made after the Governor received a report from the Assembly Service Commission regarding the Examination and Procedures for Appointing a Clerk to the Legislature. He claimed that the report was the impetus for the appointment.
According to the announcement, Sakinatu Hassan Idris, the new Clerk, is an experienced attorney, a winner of the National Productivity Award, a top civil servant, and an election observer who has been in the role for a long time.
She was the Acting Director of the Legislative Drafting Department at the Kaduna State House of Assembly, as well as the Deputy Director of the department at the Kaduna State House of Assembly.
In the years 2016-2018, she served as the Company Secretary for a number of companies, including Kaduna State Market Development and Management Company Limited.
According to the statement, the multitalented legal practitioner has a Bachelor of Law – LLB (Hons.) degree from Ahmadu Bello University in Zaria and a Barrister at Law (BL) degree from Nigerian Law School in Abuja. Both of these degrees are in Nigerian.
She has extensive and in-depth understanding of a wide variety of legal fields and issues, including Criminal and Civil Law, Criminal and Civil Procedure Law, Constitutional Law, Commercial Law, Legislative Drafting, Legal Drafting, Public International Law, Company Law, and Environmental Law. Her areas of expertise also include Legislation Drafting, Legal Drafting, Public International Law, and Environmental Law.
The Governor asked the newly appointed Clerk to utilize her extensive experience to reposition the State House of Assembly and transform it into a model for Nigeria.
He prayed that Allah would direct her in the right direction as she carried out her duties.
