An Edo NNPP Guber Candidate Who Is Also a Televangelist

In the gubernatorial election in Edo State scheduled for September 21, the candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Dr. Azemhe Azena, is a televangelist and philanthropist.
At Friday’s primary election on Ugor Road in Benin City’s Depraisery Event Centre, Azena received 211 votes, beating out three other candidates.

In a statement released by the party’s national publicity secretary, Hon. Yakubu Shendam, the results were announced by Sen. Kawu Sumaila, chairman of the NNPP Edo State primary election committee. Azena was declared the winner, surpassing Peter Okieguale, who received 100 votes and placed second. Rev. Sebastian Iyere and Balogun Engeyemhe, with 25 and 17 votes, respectively, were named third and fourth.

Originating from Okpekpe, Etsako-East in the Edo North senatorial zone, Azena is the regional pastor of Omega Fire Ministry South-South.
