APC, PDP, and Others in Ogun Are Warned by FRSC About Election Campaigns

For the 2023 campaign rallies, the Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, Ogun Sector Command has issued a warning to all political parties not to use unlawfully branded number plates.

The National Road Traffic Regulations of 2012 are being flagrantly violated, according to the FRSC, which claimed it had received numerous allegations of similar conduct from political parties in Ogun State.

The corps Sector Commander, Ahmed Umar, issued a warning to the political parties to “desist from this flagrant and unlawful usage of branded number plates” in a statement by the FRSC spokesperson in Ogun, Florence Okpe.

She said that this was done in accordance with the FRSC’s principal duty to advance national security through meticulous intelligence collecting connected to its National Vehicle Identification Scheme.

According to the Presidential Executive Order on the Ease of Doing Business, there is a protocol for registering automobiles. Okpe reminded the political parties that this procedure must be respected.

The FRSC claimed that using number plates obtained unlawfully and violating established official processes for car registration pose a threat to not just national security but also to social order and harmony.

“From this point forward, the FRSC, together with other pertinent security authorities, will not lay down and let this improper activity go unchecked and unpunished.

Therefore, anyone discovered breaking this legislation would face just punishment and have their vehicle seized.
