As gunmen attack a media house owned by a former member of the House of Representatives, Rivers State experiences uneasy rest

A media company in Port Harcourt, Atlantic TV Network and Wish 99.5 FM, Ozuoba, in the Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State, has been the target of an attack by gunmen.

It was reported that the attackers struck the station around 9 p.m. on Tuesday (yesterday), causing damage to some of its transmission devices and power supply connections.

According to XANDERTECH, the attack did not result in any fatalities.

Hon. Chinyere Igwe, the media organization’s chairman, stated that he informed the Police Public Relations Officer of the Rivers state Police Command immediately and made a formal entry at the Ozuoba police division.

Igwe urged young people to resist being used as agents of destruction by politicians and paymasters who are avaricious and self-centered and see opponents of their own interests as enemies that must be destroyed.

Igwe previously served in Rivers State’s House of Representatives, where he represented Port Harcourt Constituency II for the People’s Democratic Party.

Additionally, he backs the PDP candidate for president, Atiku Abubakar.
