The 4th ECOWAS Mining and Petroleum Forum (ECOMOF 2024), set to be held from February 22–24, 2024 at the Palais des Congrès in Cotonou, Benin, is being officially sponsored by United Bank for Africa (UBA) Plc.
With a presence in 20 African countries and active involvement in major continental development projects, UBA is the preferred partner for the event, highlighting the bank’s commitment to the growth of the mining and petroleum industry in the sub-region but to the overall economic development of Africa. The regional event is expected to attract a large gathering of key players and stakeholders in the petroleum and mining sectors of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS).
At the opening ceremony of this monumental event, Tony Elumelu, chairman of the UBA Group, will deliver the keynote speech.
Topic: “Geo-extractive Resources and Technologies: what pooling strategies for Value Creation in West Africa” Elumelu, who is also Chairman of Transcorp Group and has vast energy and power interests, will deliver the keynote address.
It is believed that his address will emphasize UBA’s growing commitment to helping Africa prosper by making strategic investments in the oil and mining industries.
In the presence of distinguished leaders such as Patrice Talon, President of the Republic of Benin, and Bola Tinubu, President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and current President of ECOWAS, UBA Group will endeavor to reaffirm its dedication to promoting economic and social development throughout the African continent at the upcoming forum.
