Election 2023: Jonah Jang: G-5 Governors Don’t Support Tinubu

Jonah Jang, a former governor of Plateau State, has criticized Governor Simon Lalong, the Director-General of the All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Council, for claiming that the G-5 governors led by Nyesom Wike were supporting Bola Tinubu, the party’s presidential candidate.

In response to the claim, Jang said in a statement on Sunday that Nigerians no longer took anything Lalong said seriously.

Clinton Garuba, his media consultant, signed the statement, which said, “Obvious sign that Lalong is daydreaming is him thinking that the G5 PDP governors and allies are supporting Tinubu.” This included former Governor Jang.

They have stated on numerous occasions that their issue is not with Atiku Abubakar of the People’s Democratic Party but rather with the procedure by which he was brought up.

“Yes, the integrity group disagrees with the PDP, and the fact that they have stopped supporting Atiku’s campaign does not imply that they support the APC candidate in any way. This is only what Lalong and his fellow dreamers believe.

In the meantime, the aggrieved governors of Rivers State—Wike, Samuel Ortom (Benue), Ifeanyi Ugwanyi (Enugu), Okezie Ikpeazu (Abia), and Seyi Makinde (Oyo)—have clashed with the leadership of the PDP regarding the zoning of the party’s high-ranking positions.
