The Nigerian Human Rights Community (NHRC) conducted a poll that predicted Bola Tinubu would win the presidential election.
In a survey report released on Thursday, this information was made public by the NHRC, which consists of 134 community-based and civil liberties organizations.
The report stated, “Out of the 19365 respondents interviewed, 7940 (41%) are voting for the APC candidate, while 5035 (26%), 4067 (21%), and 1743 (9%) are voting for the PDP, LP, and NNPP candidates, respectively.” Six percent of respondents are supporting the other candidates.
It was noted that Peter Obi of the Labour Party, Bola Tinubu of the APC, and Atiku Abubakar of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) are the three candidates competing in the election.
However, according to the NHRC, Tinubu is the “most dominant and widely accepted candidate,” followed by Peter Obi (LP) and Atiku Abubakar (PDP).
“It is worth noting, however, that the gray states—Rivers, Kebbi, Bauchi, Plateau, and Katsina—which house largely undecided voters and indifferent incumbent governors who are too close to call could sway the outcome in favor of the presidential candidate who is able to harness their voting strength.” These states include Plateau, Katsina, Rivers, Kebbi, Bauchi, and Rivers.
The group claimed to have used “professional and objective methods in conducting this exercise” in order to obtain a true reflection of opinion. Each of the 36 states, which included the FCT, was used to select the respondents.
