Nysome Wike, governor of Rivers State, has expressed dissatisfaction with the Biomodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) machine that was installed in his polling unit by the Independent National Electoral Commission.
Wike and his wife, Justice Suzzette Eberechi Wike, made their way to his polling unit 7 in Ward 9 of the Obio/Akpor Local Government Area around 10:30 a.m.
The Governor and his wife, who were the first voters at the pilling unit, were unable to be accredited by the BVAS.
A female electoral official urged the first members of the family to check back after more than 20 minutes of unsuccessful attempts.
The official said that the problem would be fixed by technicians.
After a long wait, Wike looked over the exercise and said it was a failure because he wasn’t happy with how the polling unit’s machine worked.
He stated, “INEC ought to have set up all of its tools earlier.”
We are extremely dissatisfied. We were informed that the BVAS machines were operational and that INEC was prepared for the election.
“The crowd is visible here; Due to the BVAS’s slow operation, I do not believe the majority of people will be able to vote.
I’ve been here for approximately 25 minutes. I was instructed to leave and return.

He stated, “INEC should have been completely prepared before telling the people they are ready.”
Additionally, the governor expressed concern that the election might be marred by the failure of the machine.
