Giving CAN N2 billion to mobilize support for Obi is refuted by Obi-Datti

A widely circulated “petition” claiming that Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s (LP) presidential candidate, gave two billion dollars to churches across the nation has been dismissed by his media office.

This comes after Frank Onwumere, who claimed to be a senior pastor at the “Dominion Centre International” in Okigwe, Imo state, posted a petition on social media asking the leadership of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) how the aforementioned fund was distributed to churches.

“To help and assist in mobilizing and convincing their congregation to vote massively for the candidacy of Mr. Peter Obi,” the fund was said to have been given.

The Labour party’s presidential candidate’s campaign team, on the other hand, claimed on Sunday that the petition was “concocted to tarnish the hard-earned reputation.”

The Party requested that the public disregard the petition and referred to it as “blackmail material.”

The statement reads, “Our mission today in the Obedient Movement is to alert and warn discerning minds, especially those desirous to see a new Nigeria emerge through Peter Obi, to ignore and treat as thrash any doctored and faked items on Obi.”

“Anything they are bringing now after their long and fruitless search is made up to tarnish the candidate’s hard-earned reputation and should be ignored,”

“Obi-Datti Media is proud to say that the LP candidate and his running mate continue to be the best product on the market for the much-needed political leadership in the country at this time and that they stand out untainted and possess the necessary qualities to save this troubled land.

As a result, “the public should have their eyes permanently glued to the ball” and “refuse to be distracted by any antics” because “all the devious acts will give way to reason and justice,” and “Nigeria will successfully be taken back from them and reset for greatness.”
