Gov. Wike reverses course and reapproves Atiku’s campaign stadium

The National Working Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has been granted permission to use the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium in the state to host its presidential campaign rally, according to Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike.

Because credible intelligence and recent developments indicate that the PDP Presidential Campaign Organization is collaborating with the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers, the Rivers State Government revoked the initial approval on February 11.

The government stated that it was aware of the PDP Presidential Campaign Organization’s intention to share the approved facility with the APC, whose activities are marked by destruction and violence.

On the other hand, during the state PDP Campaign rally that took place on Tuesday in the Ogu/Bolo Local Government Area, Wike stated that the government had reapproved the use of the venue in response to the requests of numerous individuals.

The governor also discussed the PDP crisis, criticizing the party’s National Chairman, Iyorchia Ayu, for claiming that a member of the G5 had visited him.

According to Wike, the assertion is false because none of the five PDP governors vying for the party’s Southern Chairmanship will visit Ayu.

He stated that the G5 governors cannot be coerced into giving up their political advocacy because it is a fight they must win.

Wike insisted that no one can force them to leave the party they had established.

In an effort to back PDP leader Atiku Abubakar, the governor of Rivers and others have repeatedly demanded that Ayu resign.
