In a failed attack that was staged on Monday along the Buni Yadi axis in Yobe State, troops of the 27 Task Force Brigade, Operation Hadin Kai, were said to have neutralized numerous ISWAP terrorists.

Zagazola Makama, a counter-insurgency expert and security analyst in the Lake Chad region, was informed by a security source that the terrorists came to the town’s outskirts on motorcycles at approximately 6:21 p.m. and fired several mortar bombs at the military base, but the bombs fell in various directions without making any impact.

According to sources, upon spotting the vigilant troops, the terrorists fled toward the Goniri axis and engaged in a gun battle, killing a large number of them and causing others to retreat due to the superior firepower of the determined troops.

The terrorists were later seen evacuating the bodies of their fighters, according to another source.

This marked their second unsuccessful assault on our troops. They claimed victory despite landing in the bushes last week, claiming to have fired five mortar shells at our base.

He stated, “They wanted to try their luck today, and they lost badly.”
