According to the Federal Road Safety Corps, a tipper rammed a father of 30 children’s motorcycle in Lokoja, Kogi State, killing him.

On Monday, August 1, Corps Commander Stephen Dawulung, Kogi FRSC Sector Commander, informed NAN in Lokoja of this.
The tipper truck killed Abdulsalam Ibrahim, a 60-year-old commercial motorcycle rider, and his passenger at Lokoja’s Ganaja Junction.

He described the occurrence as awful and unfortunate.
He was sorry that the accident had taken the life of the parent who provided for 30 kids.

“The accident was a hit-and-run since, by the time we arrived at the scene after receiving a distress call from the area, the driver and the tipper had vanished.
Eyewitnesses claimed that after the collision, the tipper driver sped off, leaving the victims’ mutilated remains on the road for onlookers to sympathize with.
He claimed that while the passenger’s body was kept at the mortuary of the Ankuri hospital in Lokoja, the officer’s body was placed in the morgue of the Federal Medical Center in Lokoja.
Dawulung advised drivers to constantly abide by safety precautions, such as speed restrictions.
Musa Baba-Aliyu, the chairman of the Kogi Motorcycle Riders’ Association, also commented on the tragedy, stating that the deceased rider was a native of Katsina and a genuine union member.
When the tragic incident occurred, according to Mr. Baba-Aliyu, Ibrahim was attempting to avoid colliding with a commercial tricycle (Keke NAPEP) that was approaching him from the opposite way.
