In Osogbo, a bank manager was arrested for putting wrapped New Naira notes in an ATM vault

The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission has arrested the manager of a bank in Osogbo, Osun State, for putting wrapped new Naira notes in the bank’s automated teller machines, which stopped the machines from giving out the notes.

On Friday, the ICPC tweeted about this, saying that the team had ordered that the wrapped new Naira notes be loaded properly so that they could be given out correctly.

“ICPC Compliance Team in Oshogbo busted an FCMB in Osogbo, Osun State, where some ATMs were loaded with cash but still had their wrappers on, so the cash couldn’t be taken out. So, the team told people to take off the wrappers and load the cash correctly.

“However, when the team went back the next day to check on the level of compliance, they found that one of the ATMs was still full of money and the wrappers had not been taken off. The Bank’s Operations Manager was taken into custody and questioned.
