Jafar responds to Maj. Gen. Lagbaja being named COAS

Major General Taoreed Lagbaja, the recently appointed Chief of Army Staff, has been dubbed the nightmare of bandits by well-known journalist Jafar Jafar.

On Monday, in response to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s nominations of service chiefs, he made this announcement via his Twitter account.

He said that Maj. Gen. Lagbaja, the 1st Division’s general commanding officer, expelled robbers from the Abuja-Kaduna expressway.

The new COAS would strengthen efforts to combat insecurity in Nigeria, he continued.

Bandits’ worst nightmare is Major General Taoreed Lagbaja, the new Chief of Army Staff. When he was the GOC for the 1st Division, he was the one who cleared bandits off the Abuja-Kaduna Expressway. Lagbaja, a trained infantry officer, spearheaded the fight against the terrorists on the ground. Now, drivers travel the roads fearlessly. Now that he is the COAS, I hope he would repeat this outstanding achievement in other unrest-ridden regions of the nation,” the author stated.
