Katsina Police Chief cautions criminals and reads the Riot Act ahead of the 2023 elections

Mr. Kolo Yusuf, the newly appointed Commissioner of Police for Katsina State, has warned criminal organizations operating in Katsina and neighboring states that things will not continue as usual.

When Kolo took over as the new Katsina State Police commissioner for the general elections in 2023, he issued the warning and has begun extensive clean-up efforts throughout the state.

The State police spokesman, S. P. Gambo Isah, issued and distributed this information to the media.

“The Katsina State Police Command wishes to inform the general public that CP Kolo Yusuf has assumed duty as the Commissioner, Katsina State Police Command, for the 2023 general elections and has commenced a mop-up operation,” according to a portion of the statement.

The commissioner stated that he was fully prepared to engage the criminals and bandits in firefighting operations and urged them to abstain from their actions or face the full wrath of the law.

The criminal elements ought to either leave the state or be taken into custody and dealt with in accordance with the laws that are currently in place.

The statement continued, “The Command, therefore, calls on the people of the state to continue to support and cooperate with the command and other security agencies in the State to ensure that the state holds free, fair, peaceful, and credible general elections in 2023.”

According to the Daily Post, Mr. Kolo was the Commissioner of Police in Zamfara State prior to his deployment to Katsina. He has made a significant contribution to addressing the issues of insecurity in the state.
