The 10th State House of Assembly will convene for the first time on Tuesday, June 20, 2023, according to the governor of Bauchi State, Bala Mohammed.

The PDP, the state’s dominant political force, controls the majority of the 31 members of the 10th Bauchi Assembly.
In the most recent State Assembly elections, the party obtained a majority of 22 of the 31 seats, while the All Progressives Congress won eight seats, leaving the New Nigeria People’s Party, NNPP, with just one.
The PDP had eight members, the New Nigeria People’s Party one, and the All Progressives Congress 22 when the 9th Assembly of Bauchi State was first established in June 2018.
The custom in Bauchi is that if the governor is from the South, the Deputy must be from the North, and the Speaker must be from the Central, and vice versa for the Speakership race.
Damban, Darazo, Ganjuwa, Misau, Ningi, and Warji Local Government Areas are included in the Bauchi Central Senatorial District.
The Speaker of the House is Suleiman Abubakar, a former APC representative from Ningi Central State.
Early last year, he defected to the PDP from the party. Due to his devotion to the governor, Abubakar is expected to keep his position.
