New Accountant General appointed by Gov. Lawal

Alhaji Idris Shehu has been nominated the Deputy Accountant General, while Ali-Akilu Mohammed Bungudu has been appointed as the State’s Accountant General with the approval of Zamfara State Governor Dauda Lawal.

The nominations were detailed in a formal announcement made on Tuesday and signed by Malam Abubakar Nakwada, Secretary to the State Government.

Sulaiman Bala Idris, the governor’s spokeswoman, revealed in a statement that Ali-Akilu is a seasoned banker with years of experience.

“The choice of Ali-Akilu is consistent with Governor Dauda Lawal’s pledge to recruit the best personnel for the rescue effort.

“Bungudu is a skilled banker with more than 20 years of experience working in operations, marketing (public sector, government revenue collection, retail banking, and international banking.

“Ali-Akilu was overseeing Northern business office with oversight for Private Banking, Corporate Banking, and Institutional Banking until his appointment,” he stated of the FBN Bank UK LTD representative office for Nigeria.
