Onanuga, an APC spokesperson, discusses the naira redesign, making AGF Malami yet another public foe

Bayo Onanuga, one of the Bola Tinubu, Kashim Shettima Presidential Campaign Council’s spokespersons, has referred to Nigeria’s Attorney General Abubakar Malami as a “public enemy.”

On Wednesday, he made the statement in a tweet under his Twitter handle.

According to Onanuga, Malami followed in the footsteps of Godwin Emefiele, the Nigerian Central Bank governor.

He tweeted, “Abubakar Malami is also a public enemy like Emefiele.”

He was responding to the preliminary objection that the justice minister, through his lawyers Mahmud Magaji and Tijanni Gazali, had filed, in which he asked the Supreme Court of Nigeria to dismiss the suit that three northern governors had filed to stop the CBN’s naira redesign policy from being implemented.

The AGF had argued that the suit could not be heard by the Supreme Court.

Additionally, he argued, “plaintiffs have equally not shown the reasonable cause of action against the defendant.”

Keep in mind that Governors Yahaya Bello of Kogi, Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna, and Bello Matawalle of Zamfara had petitioned the Supreme Court to halt the implementation of the naira redesign policy against the CBN and the federal government.
