“Peter Obi is an opportunist whose party doesn’t have any structure.” – Seun Kuti

Peter Obi, the presidential candidate for the Labour Party (LP), has been called an “opportunist” by Nigerian Afrobeat singer Seun Kuti.

Fela Anikulapo Kuti’s son said this during an interview on TheMicOn Podcast. He also said that Omoyele Sowore, the presidential candidate for the African Action Congress (AAC), is his favorite candidate.

He said that even if Sowore wins the election in 2023, he won’t be able to do his job well because the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the All Progressives Congress (APC) have so many key positions in the country.

The Afrobeat singer took a shot at Peter Obi by saying that he switched to LP because he lost at PDP and that he can’t save Nigeria.

Kuti made fun of the LP candidate by saying that he is an internet president whose election is based on social media and that he doesn’t have the background to win an election.

He said, “Even if Sowore wins, he is still my friend, and out of all the candidates, he is the one I like best.” But Nigeria does not have a leader who can save the country. This country can only be saved by the people who live there. Even if Peter Obi, who is the internet favorite, wins, Peter Obi with his noisemakers surrounded by internet favorite, let’s be honest about that: he hasn’t had the time because he started a little bit too late.

“You can’t tell me that just because you lost the PDP primaries, say 18 months before the election, you suddenly start a movement and have a real plan for the country. That’s opportunism. You already know, and it won’t be an opportunist who saves Nigeria. It will be a dedicated person who has looked at this country and devoted his life to it. This person will have been to every local government and will not jump on the Labour Party.

“The Labour Party is a socialist organization, and Peter Obi is a capitalist. Where are they going?” Even if Sowore wins, who is a very good friend of mine, how will he work in states and the senate and house of representatives that are controlled by the PDP and the APC? How will he lead this country? He should run it to make things better for most people.”
