Posted by Peter Obi, the presidential candidate for the Labour Party (LP), has stated that he is unable to withdraw in favor of Atiku Abubakar, the candidate for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Obi made the comment while denying that he had discussed forming an alliance with Atiku and resigning before the 2023 election.
Atiku revealed a few days ago that he was in communication with NNPP members Obi and Rabiu Kwankwaso.
Speaking via Diran Onifade, Head of his Media, Presidential Campaign Council, Obi claimed he was running for the Presidency and would not resign.
According to a statement made by Onifade:
“We have received a flood of questions over the assertion that there is a conversation going on between the presidential campaign of our party and Atiku Abubakar’s PDP.
“We are not in any discussions with Atiku or anyone else about quitting a contest in which we are leading.
“Peter Obi is in the race to win in line with the aspiration of the majority of Nigerians who want a New Nigeria free of deceit, corruption, and self-serving plotting,” says the campaign website.
