Politicians Only Care About Buying Votes, Says Adeyanju Regarding the Election Deadline

Popular sociopolitical activist Deji Adeyanju supported CBN Governor Godwin Emefiele on Tuesday because of his insistence on the launch date for the new currency.

Politicians seeking a deadline extension, according to Adeyanju, want to buy votes.

Adeyanju stated in a conversation with XANDERTECH: “I support Godwin Emefiele on the January 31 deadline for the new currency. The politicians who are fighting this are only concerned with purchasing votes.

Adeyanju made his statement after the Senate requested that the apex bank extend the deadline for collecting obsolete Naira notes to July 31, 2023.

After a lengthy debate, the Senate reached the new date through an acceptable resolution.

The N200, N500, and N1000 denominations were updated by the CBN in December 2022, and the new notes went into circulation.

Emefiele had set a deadline for the old denominations of January 31, 2023.

The CBN governor had stated that the January 31st deadline remained sacred despite criticism from Nigerians.
