The National Youth Leader of Ohaneze Ndigbo, Mr. Damian Okeafor, and the Ebonyi State President of Ohaneze Ndigbo, Mr. Peter Mbah, are swapping accusations on the alleged theft of five million naira (N5 million) intended for the youths.

According to information obtained, the aforementioned amount was a grant from the State government intended to promote the initiatives of the Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth wing but was reportedly stolen by some individuals.

According to xandertech, Okeafor had previously asked the PCACC’s Ebonyi State chapter to investigate Mbam about the alleged misappropriation of the aforementioned funds.

The petition was presented to reporters in the Ebonyi State capital of Abakaliki and was given the following title: “Request to investigate the missing fund of the National Youths wing of the Ohaneze Ndigbo in possession of Peter Mbam.”

It urged the PCACC Chairman to demand an explanation from Mbam for the five million naira (N5m) believed to belong to the National Youth wing of Ohanaeze and be in his hands.

Mbam, who spoke with the Daily Post on Saturday, refuted knowledge of such embezzlement and admonished Okeafor to avoid adopting a mindset that seeks to damage other people’s reputations.

“I was surprised and very shocked to hear such an allegation,” Mbam, who disowned Okeafor, stated.

“First off, Damian Okeafor is not a member of our group and has no connection to us in the State; instead, he is a member of Ohaneze Ndigbo, the organization’s national body.

He has been involved in controversy ever since he took office as Ohaneze Ndigbo’s national youth leader on August 20, 2021. On September 26, 2021, just six months after his inauguration, he was suspended for misappropriating youth-related monies and for incompetence.

Mbam bemoaned the fact that he worked to have Okeafor reinstated as the Ohaneze Ndigbo national youth leader, only to have evil be paid back to him.
