Nnamdi Kanu, the arrested leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, is in critical condition, according to Simon Ekpa, a separatist and Biafra militant.
Despite the Court of Appeal clearing the IPOB leader of terrorism and treasonable felony charges last year, Kanu has been held captive in the DSS facility since his arrest in Kenya in June 2021 and extradition to Nigeria to stand trial for treasonable felony.
Ekpa, a self-described follower of Kanu, claimed that the separatist leader’s health was worsening and emphasized that if nothing was done immediately, he may pass away in DSS custody.
In the event that anything happened to Kanu, he pledged that those responsible would not escape punishment.
On Saturday morning, he posted, “BRGIE @BiafraRGIE” on his Twitter account. BREAKING: Mazi Nnamdi Kanu is critically ill and may pass away in the DSS if nothing is done or he is not released quickly.
