We’re Proud Of Our Successes As A Government, Osinbajo says

The Federal Government, according to Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, is happy with its accomplishments to date.

He claimed that the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons and Other Related Matters has made significant progress in the fight against human trafficking (NAPTIP).

By Osinbajo It is known that this administration has continued to support NAPTIP and exert the necessary political will in the battle against human trafficking.

The Vice President made this statement in Abuja on the final day of NAPTIP and the International Center for Migration Policy Development’s one-week observance of the 2022 World Day Against Human Trafficking (ICMPD)

Adeola Ipaye, the Deputy Chief of Staff to the President, who attended the event in Osinbajo’s place, urged the youth to effect change even where they have previously failed.

“As a government, we are proud of the accomplishments already made by NAPTIP, her partners, and other stakeholders, but I am here to urge that we all must do more. I am convinced that with more support from everyone, including the private sector as already evident in this year’s collaboration, more will be achieved and Nigeria and the rest of the world will benefit from it.

It is known that this administration has continued to exert essential political will in the battle against human trafficking by giving NAPTIP and other important stakeholders the guidance and assistance they need to make Nigeria a country free from this crime.

Dr. Fatima Waziri-Azi, director general of NAPTIP, said that since the organization’s founding, 530 convictions have been obtained; 36 of those convictions, and counting, were obtained in 2022.
