Obi declared that he would rather perish in Nigeria than live free in another nation in the event of a conflict.
He revealed this to more than a thousand members of his most important support network, the Peter Obi Support Network, during a virtual interactive session.

The former governor of Anambra State claimed that he purposefully avoided applying for citizenship and a resident visa from other nations because he has faith in Nigeria.
Obi claims: “I returned everything that belonged to them when I left the UK after living there for more than ten years.

“I am only focused on Nigeria, and I do not believe that I need citizenship or residency privileges in any other nation while I am still able to make use of my naturally occurring rights and privileges as a Nigerian.
“I will find a method to get back to Nigeria if there is a war there today because I would rather die in my nation, Nigeria, than live free in another man’s country,” a Nigerian said.
