Deji Adeyanju, a social commentator, has claimed that Rabiu Kwankwaso, the presidential candidate for the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), is backing Bola Tinubu, the candidate for the All Progressives Congress (APC).

According to Adeyanju, Kwankwaso thinks Tinubu will elect him president if he wins in 2023.
He emphasized that if Tinubu wins in 2023, it will take another Southern and Northern presidential candidate 16 years to control Nigeria.

Adeyanju wrote in a series of tweets: “If Tinubu wins, it will take another candidate from the South 16 years to become president, and the same goes for a Northern candidate.
This is among the causes for Kwankwaso’s current support of Tinubu. In 8 years, he believes Asiwaju will assist him in gaining power.

“Being less desperate for power is a really important lesson I learned from this. The same reason Kwankwaso and Obi were unable to cooperate when it was clear that only one person could hold the office of president.
