Posted by On Monday, the Department of State Services (DSS) confirmed that Femi Fani-Kayode, the chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), was in their custody.
The Service’s spokesman, Peter Afunanya, stated that Fani-Kayode, the APC Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) Director of Special Projects and New Media, had been present with them since 9 a.m. in response to the invitation extended to him.
In a WhatsApp message, the spokesperson stated:
Chief Femi Fani-Kayode has been working for the DSS since 9 a.m. today, February 23—in response to the Service’s invitation. Please, later.
The development came as a result of Fani-Kayode’s tweet about an alleged coup plan by the People’s Democratic Party presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, and high-ranking military generals that there might be a plan to scuttle the upcoming general election or commit a coup d’état, which is a crime that carries the death penalty.
We had reported that on Monday morning, Fani-Kayode issued a statement via Twitter informing the general public of his DSS invitation.
The head of the APC had stated that he would accept the invitation because he had nothing to worry about, and he also stated that he would continue to express his feelings as long as he possessed life.
