The suit brought against the Federal Government regarding the contentious Naira re-design policy was heard by the Supreme Court on Wednesday, and a hearing date of March 3 was set for the decision.
Equity John Inyang Okoro fixed the date subsequent to taking contentions for and against the suit by certain Conditions of the Organization.
The states of Kaduna, Kogi, and Zamfara, led by Kaduna, are asking the Supreme Court to overturn the policy because it is hurting innocent Nigerians.
The states requested that President Muhammadu Buhari’s directive be revoked because they said he had abused his authority over the Central Bank of Nigeria, or CBN.
Abdulhakeem Mustapha, a prominent lawyer, presented the states’ case.
