Posted by Atiku Abubakar, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, has stated that he does not want to be Nigeria’s president in the days leading up to the 2023 elections.
Contrary to what some people believe, Atiku stated that he was running for president to improve Nigeria.
In advance of Saturday’s election, he gave a speech in Abuja when the Council of National Students Presidents of Nigeria endorsed him as their presidential candidate.
Atiku, who was represented by Yakubu Dogara, a former Speaker of the House of Representatives, stated:
“I’m not frantic for office. I’m rushing to make a change. Many things will change while I’m in charge. I have committed myself to the Nigerian people.
We must acknowledge President Muhammadu Buhari’s insistence on free and fair elections. That move must be appreciated by us.
Atiku issued a warning regarding the redesigned Naira, stating that Nigerians would suffer further if they permitted “fraudsters” to assume power.
Since 1993, when he took over for the late MKO Abiola, Atiku has been in the running for the presidency.
He was appointed Vice President by former President Olusegun Obasanjo in 1999, and together they ruled for eight years.
