Former Osun SDP guber candidate backs Peter Obi

The Social Democratic Party, SDP, gubernatorial candidate in the July 16, 2022, election in Osun State, Goke Omigbodun, has backed Peter Obi over the alleged leaked audio conversation with Bishop David Oyedepo of the Living Faith Church.

Peter Obi was the Labour Party, LP, presidential candidate in the February 25, 2023, presidential election.

Information in the media space has it that Peter Obi was heard telling Oyedepo in a leaked audio that “it is a religious war”.

In a radio current affairs programme on Monday in Osogbo, Omigbodun said that if Obi said what was leaked in the audio, he was just being truthful.

”I have not accepted that he said it, but if truly he said so, he was just being truthful,” he said.

The guber candidate insisted that it was the All Progressives Congress, APC, that first started bringing religious sentiment into politics.

”If truly Peter Obi said so, I am part of the people that will back him up that he can say so.

“Because it was All Progressives Congress, APC, that first started it.

”Some parts of APC members that gathered people together telling them not to vote for ‘Kafiri’. Who are these ‘Kafiri’ they were refering to?”
