Haaland equals the remarkable record of Cristiano Ronaldo

Erling Haaland of Manchester City has won the UEFA Champions League final with his team, matching Al-Nassr captain Cristiano Ronaldo’s remarkable record from the 2007–2008 season.

On June 10 in Turkey, Haaland participated in Man City’s 1-0 victory over Inter Milan in the Champions League championship match.

The international player from Norway didn’t score in the championship game, but he finished the competition with 12 goals in 11 games, taking home the Golden Boot.

The 22-year-old, who won the Golden Boot in both tournaments, finished the season with the Premier League and UEFA Champions League championships thanks to the victory.

The Football Writers Association (FWA) also named Haaland the Footballer of the Year.

According to AS, Ronaldo only previously accomplished this particular accomplishment for Manchester United in the 2007–2008 season.

During that season, Ronaldo scored eight goals in the Champions League and 31 in the league.

For Manchester City, Haaland has scored 36 goals in 35 league appearances, a Premier League record.
