President Buhari’s announcement was made public by his adviser Femi Adesina in a press release. Femi Adesina claims that on January 23, the president visited Dr. Rilwanu Adamu, the Emir of Bauchi, and made these remarks.
“Whenever I travel for business or pleasure to a state, I usually pay a visit to the Emir and the Chief to express my gratitude.
In 2019, when I was running for re-election for a second term, I visited all the states of the Federation. The crowds there were greater than anything anyone could buy or coerce, and I made a promise and pledge there that I would serve Nigeria and Nigerians to the best of my ability. So far, I have not let anyone down. I visited all local governments between 2003 and 2011.
