He’ll make good money, says Guardiola of Messi’s upcoming club

Pep Guardiola, the manager of Manchester City, believes Lionel Messi will flourish at Inter Miami after the Argentine confirmed his transfer to the MLS.

Messi, a free agent after just two seasons, is quitting Paris Saint-Germain.

The seven-time Ballon d’Or winner turned down the chance to go back to Barcelona, where he played four productive seasons under Guardiola.

Massive offers from Saudi Arabia were also made, but Messi chose to continue playing in Major League Soccer (MLS).

“I am out of this situation, you know more about it than I do,” Guardiola told the media.

“I am confident Leo will succeed if he ultimately decides to move to the United States, and it is the best choice for him. I disregard the internal chitchat. And the money there is excellent; I won’t say anything more about it.

Messi will make almost £40 million while playing for Inter Miami.
