According to Usman Alkali Baba, the Inspector General of Police, 425,106 security personnel will be deployed for the presidential and National Assembly elections scheduled for February 25, 2023.

The IGP stated that the figure does not include members of the Nigerian Armed Forces during a media briefing held at the National Collation Centre in Abuja by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
He explained that members of the team come from the Nigerian Police, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC), the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), the Nigerian Correctional Service, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), and the Nigeria Immigration Service.

The anti-graft agency will provide the fewest personnel, 350, while the Nigeria Police will provide a large pool of 310,973 individuals.
