Posted by Daniel Bwala, the spokesperson for the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Presidential Campaign Council, has instructed the Federal Government to remove Nyesom Wike, the Governor of Rivers State, prior to the 2023 general elections.
In an interview with Arise TV on Wednesday, Bwala stated that the removal of the state governor is the only way to end the PDP crisis in the state and that the federal government should declare a state of emergency in Rivers.
According to Bwala, Wike’s “antics” may prevent the state’s upcoming elections from being free and fair.
He stated, “The proper thing to do is to declare a state of emergency, remove him, and conduct elections there, and this would not be new in Nigeria.” He added, “If the chief executive officer of the state cannot allow free and fair conduct.”
Bwala went on to say that the PDP candidate for president, Atiku Abubakar, would win the election even in Rivers State. He added that the PDP canceled its presidential rally in the state to “avoid bloodshed.”
He went on to say that if Atiku wins the elections, he will travel to Rivers State to celebrate with the people there.
In addition, Bwala stated that the state had leaders who would guarantee Atiku’s victory. Bwala referred to the party’s former National Chairman, Uche Secondus, as “people that matter to deliver votes.” He added, “they are the ground soldiers who know the people at the base,” that such leaders had consistently delivered votes for Atiku when he ran in the past.
