Dr. Olamide Ohunyeye is running for governor of Ondo State as a candidate for the All Progressives Congress (APC). If elected, he promises to revitalize the state’s struggling businesses.

According to a statement released in Abuja by his media office, Ohunyeye made the commitment while meeting with APC stakeholders in the town of Idanre, which is located in the Idanre local government area of the state.

The former military officer bemoaned the fact that many of the businesses started by former governors Adebayo Adefarati and Pa Adekunle Ajasin have failed.

One of his goals as governor would be to revive and build new enterprises in order to restore the state’s luster, he stated.

He elaborated by saying that other oil-producing states, including as Rivers and Akwa Ibom, have expanded considerably more rapidly in the past eight years than the state has.

As an example, I tracked the road to Idanre closely on my route there and saw that it is in a terrible condition. Given that Idanre is the political epicenter of Ondo state, the city’s poor road network is deeply troubling.
